POSITION: Oracle Database Administrator – Senior
LOCATION: Seaside, CA
SCOPE: Serves as a Database Administrator on a major IT services contract for the U.S. Army
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs Oracle 11g and 12c database installation, configuration, tuning, patching, and upgrades.
- Designs database tables and maintains dictionaries.
- Develops scripts, procedures, and triggers for application development.
- Develops, implements, and optimizes stored procedures and functions.
- Manages data quality throughout the ETL process; maintains database consistency.
- Manages database backup and recovery.
- Develops and maintains procedures and scripts for data migration.
- Supports database user account and privilege management.
- Monitors database performance and security.
- Develops and supports standard reports and other business reporting requirements.
- Applies NIST RMF security controls and DoD STIGs; maintains system security baselines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of relevant experience; additional years of experience and/or specialized training/certifications may be substituted for education.
- Education or certification must be in an IT discipline related to the assigned program area (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer or Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Computer Forensics/Security, etc.).
- Experience in Oracle and other enterprise database administration including troubleshooting and monitoring; experience with NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Experience using and writing operating system commands and scripts, and scripting languages, including Powershell and SQL.
- Experience with performance tuning, capacity planning and bottleneck resolution, administration of Oracle Database Servers, building and maintaining high-availability, clustered and scalable systems.
- Azure Cloud Database Administration experience is a plus.
- Oracle Database Administration Certified Professional or similar is a plus.
- Must possess current Security+ (or equivalent DoD Directive 8570.1 IAT II)
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active DoD Secret Clearance
SALARY (Based on level of experience and expertise): $120K – $150K
