POSITION: Principal System Architect (IT Project Manager)
SCOPE:
The Principal System Architect (IT Project Manager) will serve as the Team Lead providing leadership and supervisory oversight for a team of IT professionals, ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of IT infrastructure. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of IT infrastructure (hardware, software, and networking) based on findings from research, discovery, and evaluation of technical debt.
- Identify and recommend scalable solutions that provide both short-term improvements and long-term sustainability.
- Collaborate with technical leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure IT solutions align with business objectives and needs.
- Oversee the configuration control process for all recommended solutions and ensure proper documentation.
- Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support to the IT team, ensuring swift resolution of issues.
- Foster effective communication between the IT team and other departments to ensure alignment between technology solutions and business goals.
- Plan and execute disaster recovery efforts to minimize downtime and data loss, as needed.
- Identify and implement technologies that drive operational efficiency or provide competitive advantages.
- Manage project milestones and tasks to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Prepare and present status reports, project plans, and whitepapers for senior IT leadership and the Program Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 13+ years of experience in IT disciplines (e.g., systems/network engineering, software development, cybersecurity) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 5 years of experience leading teams of 20+ employees.
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570.1 IAT II certification) and at least one relevant computing environment certification.
- Certification in project management (e.g., CompTIA Project+ or PMI PMP).
- Familiarity with aspects of IT, including but not limited to systems/network engineering, software development, and cybersecurity.
- Ability to effectively communicate across all technical domains and collaborate with experts from different IT disciplines, ensuring clear understanding and alignment across the team.
- Comfortable speaking the “language” of various IT functions to bridge communication gaps between technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior management.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Secret, with ability to obtain Top Secret if required.
SALARY: $130 – 160K
