Server Lead

POSITION: Server Lead

LOCATION: Huntsville, AL

SCOPE: Acts as Server Lead on a major IT services contract for the U.S. Army. Provide senior technical leadership for enterprise compute, virtualization, operating systems, VDI, container platforms, storage integration, backup/recovery and infrastructure modernization supporting mission operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead Windows/Linux, VMware ESXi/vSphere/vCenter/VCF, VDI and Red Hat OpenShift environments.
• Own availability, capacity, performance, patching, lifecycle planning and configuration baselines.
• Lead backup/recovery, restoration testing, replication, retention and RPO/RTO achievement.
• Integrate DISA STIGs, vulnerability remediation, privileged access, logging and RMF continuous monitoring.
• Plan upgrades and migrations with testing, rollback, change control and validation.
• Automate operations using PowerShell, Ansible or approved orchestration.
• Maintain system plans, diagrams, SOPs, inventories, recovery procedures and RMF evidence.
• Serve as senior escalation authority for mission-impacting infrastructure events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years enterprise server/infrastructure engineering with technical-lead responsibility.
• Advanced Windows Server and Linux/RHEL administration.
• Strong VMware, storage, backup, VDI and high-availability knowledge.
• DoD STIG, patching, vulnerability remediation and secure-baseline experience.
• Ability to support on-site and after-hours escalation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required clearance/access.

PREFERRED/HIGHLY DESIRED:

• VMware VCP/VCAP, Red Hat, Microsoft or OpenShift certifications.
• VMware VCF/SDDC Manager, vSAN, Cohesity, Dell PowerProtect and SAN/NFS/SMB.
• RMF/eMASS evidence and classified-network experience.
• Army/Redstone enterprise infrastructure experience.
