Job Details:

The Business Analyst (BA) II Data Quality Analyst performs detailed job analysis of business processes and provides an interface between traditional logistical support organizations and functional requirement definitions. A BA II Data Quality Analyst must demonstrate the following:

  • The ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

General Duties:

  • Assist in data analytics, focusing on enterprise data management and the validation of data prior to and during migration from legacy systems. Responsibilities for data life-cycle control may include, but is not limited to:
  • Define data goals, objectives, strategies and standards for data validation, cleansing, and control
  • Exercise oversight of legacy data cleansing, analysis, harmonization and staging to support an Army Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environment
  • Assist in defining the technical solutions to support identified metrics, as well as monitoring Army ERP data quality and availability through the use of metrics and audits
  • Enforce the business processes implemented for the organization’s enterprise data management and data integration
  • Perform technical analysis by assessing the areas of impact of data issues from all levels of the enterprise
  • Assist in maintaining and sustaining migration efforts and management of future migration requirements

Required Experience:

Overview/Scope of Responsibilities:

Manage Operational Test Command’s (OTC) networks and ensure they function efficiently by collecting performance data, monitoring its security, troubleshooting issues, anticipating problems, and performing routine maintenance. Maintain software and hardware and monitor systems for glitches or disturbances. Analyze technical problems, develop workable solutions, establish network specifications and issues by consulting with system end-users and analyzing workflow and security requirements. Identify performance issues within the network including availability, throughput, and latency and install, configure, and troubleshoot equipment and established connections and set up firewalls.

Define the policies and procedures of the network. After a network is established, monitor and analyze it. Train and prepare users to utilize network safety through training sessions and serve as a reference. Perform systems upgrades, and test, evaluate, and install network enhancements.

Position Description:

The Network Specialist II supports the OTC mission by:

  • Configure, update, evaluate and debug hardware and software for the LAN/WAN.
  • Responsible for installation, maintenance, relocation, and de-installation for LAN/WAN.
  • Coordinates with peers on projects that encompass other sections to ensure that all customer needs are serviced.
  • Working onsite outside of regular hours for emergencies and network maintenance.
  • Ensures that all measures are taken to protect networks from denial of service or other vulnerabilities.

Summary:

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) provides Information Technology (IT) support to Program Executive Office (PEO) Missile and Space which is a Continental United States (CONUS) organization located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. The OCIO provides centralized life cycle management, direction, guidance, and support for the acquisition, sustainment, maintainability, supportability, and implementation of the PEO, Information Mission Area (IMA). PEO Missile and Space is an approved Data Center providing hosting to multiple organizations, Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and CloudPlatform as a Service (PaaS) throughout the US Army Acquisition community.

Duties:

Job Description

Mainly works independently, with little supervision from supervisor or higher-graded employee. Conducts on-site collection of reliability, availability, maintainability, logistics supportability, and performance data during developmental and/or operational testing of new military/non-military automotive, electronic, general support or ordnance materiel. Applies extensive knowledge of the operating characteristics of equipment and of maintenance procedures to report critical test data used in the evaluations of such materiel. Acts as the lead data collector when multiple personnel are assigned to collect data on the test program and no higher-graded employee is assigned to the project. Provide technical guidance, assistance, on-the-job-training and closely monitor the work of the assigned lower-graded employees. Monitor work in progress and review and initial completed work generated by lower-graded employees for quality assurance, completeness and accuracy on a daily basis. Performs any or all of the following illustrative tasks for routine projects: visually examines equipment or test items for flaws or defects; observes operation of equipment to detect apparent malfunctions; observes operation of simple test instruments and controls during tests and records related test data; downloads test data from on-board instrumentation; performs specified arithmetic computations; and extracts and compiles specified data including detailed narrative from records or other sources such as specifications and drawings. All work is reviewed by a higher-graded employee for quality assurance, accuracy and completeness on a daily basis.

Qualifications

Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher in each individual discipline of math and science and a GPA of 3.0 or higher in High School English and/or a GPA of 2.5 or higher in College English from either an accredited high school or university.

Must have 3 years’ experience in performing data collection of military/non-military equipment and associated maintenance concepts (Associate’s Degree in a technical area may substitute for 6 months experience.  Bachelor’s Degree in a technical area may substitute for 1 year experience)

Must have 1 year experience using a computer and Microsoft Software or successful completion of 2 recognized computer classes.

UNUSUAL OR SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION 

May require sitting in front of a computer for extended periods of time (up to 75%). The ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, reach above shoulder level and climb onto or into a vehicle is required (up to 50%). Walking a minimum of 50 yards over rough terrain is required (up to 25%).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work environment may be inside or outside depending on the task. The ability to work in outside field conditions that include hot and cold extreme temperatures and other outdoor climatic conditions is required (up to 50%).  Must be able to work in areas where only portable restroom facilities are available (up to 50%).  Work environment may be fast-paced and require work under pressure to meet deadlines associated with the completion of a task.  Must be available to perform job functions at sites other than APG. Travel may be required.

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASKS

Must have experience using a computer and Microsoft Software or successful completion of two recognized computer classes. Provides assistance to higher-graded employees engaged in the on-site collection of reliability, availability, maintainability, logistics supportability, and performance data during developmental and/or operational testing of new military/non-military automotive, electronic, general support or ordnance material. Acquires through formal and informal classroom and on-the-job training a practical knowledge of the characteristics, properties and uses of equipment necessary to carry out the data collection process. Work also requires regular use of typical office equipment such as the personal computer, copiers, and fax machines.

CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE

Attendance is critical at all times during normal duty hours. Work outside of normal duty hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required with as little as one-hour advance notice.

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearance in order to gain access to required areas, networks and systems within thirty (30) days of date of your offer letter.  Must be able to obtain and retain a secret security clearance. Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.  Must be able to obtain and retain unescorted access to work areas. May be subject to physicals or exams due to the work area in which you are assigned.  May be subject to exposure to noise, temperature extremes, and fumes from fuels and solvents.  Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required.  Must have a valid driver’s license and personal transportation for the purpose of moving around the proving ground to accomplish job functions and in order to operate a rental vehicle if and when travel is required. Must have personal vehicle at your work location and readily available for use at all times in order to move from site to site to fulfill requirements associated with task support. Job Description

Assist in developing, writing, and editing material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment following prescribed regulations, standards, formatting and style guidelines.
