POSITION TITLE:  Integration Management Lead

PROGRAM SCOPE: Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Advanced Research Center (ARC) Program

  • This program supports the management of the Special Purpose Processing Node (SPPN), Unclassified Networks, and other Government Furnished Equipment that comprises the ARC and provide the infrastructure necessary to support Hardware in the Loop (HWIL), Ground Test and tenant/stakeholder activities as part of the SPPN.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads integration checkout activities for Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) components and mid-course sensors after Hardware and Software upgrades within the GMD ISTC laboratories.
  • Primary test asset management focal point during formal ground testing, coordinating with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Test Event Execution team to work issues that may arise with components and report status and readiness of ISTC and other laboratories via voice communications.
  • Coordinates with all participating BMDS elements within ISTC labs for formal test events, lab readiness runs, and element requested checkout activities, real world events and training exercises; coordinates schedules for integration and lab activities based on element availability.
  • Leads the execution of lab readiness runs to verify status of the HWIL assets within ISTC labs.
  • Assists lab components in the resolution of issues affecting successful integration for the specified test event.
  • Ensures all data is appropriately captured for each component after individual runs, located in the appropriate storage area, and placed under CM control for transfer to the Missile Defense Data Center.
  • Captures and maintains metrics of the number of hardware, software, and configuration changes as well as the number of runs conducted on a day to day basis within ISTC laboratories to feed overall ARC utilization metrics for all assets.
  • Performance metrics are also captured to include component turnaround time, test execution durations, and data archival efficiency.
  • Provides technical support at weekly Integration Meetings and any other impromptu Technical Meetings, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum: PhD in a relevant field OR ten (10) years related work experience, in place of; AND
  • 20 or more years related work experience.
  • IA certification in accordance with DoD Instruction 8570.01M
  • TOP SECRET clearance required
  • Experience leading a technical team
  • Experience in the MDA mission or other U.S Government agency, particularly in support of a research environment, is highly desirable

Cyber Security/Information Assurance Lead

Systems Administrator IV

POSITION TITLE:  Linux Admin/IT support for NOAA’s Ocean Surface Winds Science Team (OSWST)

POSITION SCOPE:

This position serves as the principal systems administrator and IT resource for the Ocean Surface Winds Science Team in NOAA’s Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR) at NOAA’s Center for Weather and Climate Predictions in College Park Maryland.  The OSWST operates an environment that includes 15 Linux CentOS servers and one Solaris Server, 1.4 Petabytes of mostly JBOD storage, Apache Web servers.  OSWST performs experiments on NOAA P3 airplanes and the supported environment include systems and sensor interfaces that reside on those planes.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide systems administration and general support for the OSWST infrastructure.
  • Serve as the principal IT resource as member of a small team of scientists and analysts who collect, process, and analyze data to study and model Ocean Surface wind, using data collected via satellite and air based experiments.
  • Administer, monitor and maintain all Linux servers including unboxing, provisioning, baseline configuration, ongoing configuration management, patching, and decommissioning.
  • Perform Tier 2-3 helpdesk support the OSWST systems
  • Monitor system performance and resource utilization
  • Assist with patching and developing and implementing firewall rules and security controls
  • Follow and support STAR Configuration Management practices
  • Manage OSWST Apache based public web services
  • Manage and monitor perimeter security devices including firewalls
  • Setup and manage hardware and software JBOD storage systems
  • Maintain documentation regarding system configurations and processes.
  • Support the OSWST data collection mission including participation in P3 based data collection efforts. Some of these experiments can be in severe weather.

General Summary:

Database Programmer/Specialist

General Summary

The Database Programmer/Specialist is responsible of maintaining and updating existing Enterprise System application programs. The position utilizes MS Access, Visual Basic, MySQL, HTML, JavaScript, and programmatic manipulation of Microsoft office products. CompTIA Security+ and MCSA or higher certification is required with demonstrated proficiency in Windows operating systems. Maintains database by identifying and resolving issues using MySQL while supporting Enterprise system users. Research to Operations Project Lead

POSITION TITLE:  Research to Operations Project Lead

POSITION SCOPE:

Leads a team of software developers and IT specialists that is responsible for integrating and transitioning new algorithms and products developed by NOAA’s Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR) into Operations ready packages that are deployed by NOAA’s Office of Satellite Products and Operations (OSPO).  The Team, known as the Algorithm Scientific Software Integration and System Transition Team supports the full Research to Operations life cycle, supporting multiple projects at any time. The Project Lead who is the primary point of contact with STAR, is responsible for project management, ensure process and schedule compliance working with teams of developers, analysts, QA and CM specialists and a range of stakeholders.  STAR and OSPO are major line components of NOAA’s National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service (NESDIS).
