Job Description

Works under close supervision and receives technical guidance from supervisor or higher-graded employee. Provides assistance to higher-graded employees engaged in on-site collection of reliability, availability, maintainability, logistics supportability, and performance data during developmental and/or operational testing of new military/non-military automotive, electronic, general support or ordnance materiel. Acquires through formal and informal classroom and on-the-job training a practical knowledge of the characteristics, properties and uses of equipment necessary to carry out the data collection process. Becomes familiar with detailed procedures which are either established or repetitive, or which are specified by a higher-graded employee at the time of initial performance and by using readily acquired skills or equipment knowledge. Under the technical guidance of a higher-graded employee performs any or all of the following illustrative tasks for routine projects: visually examines equipment or test items for flaws or defects; observes operation of equipment to detect apparent malfunctions; observes operation of simple test instruments and controls during tests and records related test data; downloads test data from on-board instrumentation; performs specified arithmetic computations; and extracts and compiles specified data including detailed narrative from records or other sources such as specifications and drawings. All work is reviewed by a higher-graded employee for quality assurance, accuracy and completeness on a daily basis.

Qualifications

Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher in each individual discipline of math and science and a GPA of 3.0 or higher in High School English and/or a GPA of 2.5 or higher in College English from either an accredited high school or university.

Must have 1 year experience using a computer and Microsoft Software or successful completion of 2 accredited computer classes.

UNUSUAL OR SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION 

May require sitting in front of a computer for extended periods of time (up to 75%). The ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, crouch, kneel, reach above shoulder level and climb onto or into a vehicle is required (up to 50%). Walking a minimum of 50 yards over rough terrain is required (up to 25%).

DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work environment may be inside or outside depending on the task. The ability to work in outside field conditions that include hot and cold extreme temperatures and other outdoor climatic conditions is required (up to 50%).  Must be able to work in areas where only portable restroom facilities are available (up to 50%).  Work environment may be fast-paced and require work under pressure to meet deadlines associated with the completion of a task.  Must be available to perform job functions at sites other than APG. Travel may be required.

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASKS

Must have experience using a computer and Microsoft Software or successful completion of two recognized computer classes. Provides assistance to higher-graded employees engaged in the on-site collection of reliability, availability, maintainability, logistics supportability, and performance data during developmental and/or operational testing of new military/non-military automotive, electronic, general support or ordnance material. Acquires through formal and informal classroom and on-the-job training a practical knowledge of the characteristics, properties and uses of equipment necessary to carry out the data collection process. Work also requires regular use of typical office equipment such as the personal computer, copiers, and fax machines.

CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE

Attendance is critical at all times during normal duty hours. Work outside of normal duty hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required with as little as one-hour advance notice.

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearance in order to gain access to required areas, networks and systems within thirty (30) days of date of your offer letter.  Must be able to obtain and retain a secret security clearance. Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.  Must be able to obtain and retain unescorted access to work areas. May be subject to physicals or exams due to the work area in which you are assigned.  May be subject to exposure to noise, temperature extremes, and fumes from fuels and solvents.  Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required.  Must have a valid driver’s license and personal transportation for the purpose of moving around the proving ground to accomplish job functions and in order to operate a rental vehicle if and when travel is required. IT Help Desk Technician

Job Description:

Cybersecurity (CS) Management Specialist I

Position Title: Cybersecurity (CS) Management Specialist I

Position Description:

  • Must have knowledge of Windows Server 2019; Windows11 for workstations.
  • Must possess thorough understanding of computer networks and telecommunications procedures.
  • Must understand use and configuration of network routers, access control lists, firewalls, and virtual private network. The Cyber Security Analyst will aid our client with CS related analysis, scanning, documentation, and test and evaluation support for the CS security posture and accreditation requirements of OCT applications and systems.
  • Provide technical security expertise in planning, preparing, and Coordination of the Department of Defense (DoD) CS program.
  • Will possess the background, experience, and knowledge of CS, patch management, IAVM, risk assessment and vulnerability assessment using Tenable ACAS, or other automated tools.
  • Requires experience in computer emergency response, incident handling and monitoring instruction detection system and firewalls.
  • Be familiar with SIPRNET, LANs, VPNs, routers, and firewalls.
  • The contractor shall perform IA-related duties for the U.S. Army client-managed assets and users. Conducts scans and analysis of network vulnerabilities on a periodic basis for trending of status. Ensures IAVAs and virus notifications are expeditiously promulgated through the automated patching tools, informed responsible system administrators and the subordinated unit’s CS personnel. Serves as Subject Matter Expert and provides direct customer support to help resolve security vulnerability issues that cannot be resolved through automated means.
  • The contractor shall support a robust Computer Network Defense posture in order to capably and quickly respond to real and potential compromises to client-managed servers and data including Computer Security Incident Response and reviewing log files.
  • The contractor will support the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the commands servers, desktops, and network devices through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of information security programs, group policies, and security tools such as Host Based Security System (HBSS), Systems Management Server (SMS), Anti-virus, Windows Update Server (WSUS), and the DoD Vulnerability Management System. Updates and maintains IAVA compliance database, submits Change Orders for IAVM remediation, and reports to OTC Cyber Branch as appropriate. Receives, investigates, confirms, and documents reports of malicious software attacks, suspicious activities, and penetration incidents, and prepares and submits notifications to the OTC CS Branch or investigating agency as appropriate. Receive instructions and guidance from the OTC CS Branch on issues regarding connectivity, vulnerability assessments, and scanning of the OTC Local Area and Test Networks. Report security issues to OTC CS Branch and ensures sound security principles are reflected in the organization’s vision and goals. Implements and develops basic programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to system security policies and procedures.
  • The contractor is required to interact with Government representatives and other contractors on a continuous basis to achieve and maintain system(s) compliance. Maintain and monitor CS compliance requirements for OTC network systems in support the RMF process; conduct Network and System Vulnerability assessments; perform periodic system security reviews; implement necessary security safeguards; maintain responsibility for media control, virus scanning, system auditing and maintain Vulnerability database for OTC systems. This may include assistance with configuration of personal computers and peripheral devices, and virus detection and prevention assistance.

  • Provides oversight to employees assigned to collect data on a variety of test programs to include highly complex systems
  • Provides technical guidance, assistance, and on-the-job training and closely monitors workload
  • Reviews work in progress for quality, completeness, and accuracy daily and initials completed work
  • Trains employees on specific tasks and job techniques and makes available written instructions, reference materials, and supplies

To operate commercial and administrative (non-tactical) vehicles over 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, contractor employees shall possess an OF 346 Operators Permit, US Army Motor Vehicle Operator’s Identification Card. To obtain an OF 346, employees must have a valid state driver’s license and successfully complete a Defensive Driver’s Course.
  • May be required to have a medical exam or test prior to working in particular areas
  • Required to submit to a urinalysis and/or in  vivo lung scan and laser eye examination on a random basis
  • Those supporting the firing mission are exposed to loud noises which exceed the levels identified in 29 CFR Part 1910.95, require pre-placement, annual. and operational audiometric tests
  • Must take precautions to avoid contracting Lyme’s Disease when working in grassy and wooded areas on APG
  • Must be U.S. citizen and possess a high school diploma
  • Able to speak, read, write, and understand English proficiently and be able to clearly and concisely communicate both orally and in writing
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers and MS Office Software
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance and CAC
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license; may be required to be licensed to operate Government provided vehicles
